Jag Goraya founded the Better With Data Society to support civic and entrepreneurial engagement with open data.

He has a background in change and product management, helping public sector, cultural and economic development organisations to think differently about how they use data to understand, design and deliver services that people care about. This is underpinned by over 15 years experience of working with senior managers, frontline staff and data in commercial, community and startup environments.

His main interest currently is balancing data insights with societal and organisational instincts, and what that practically means for cultural readiness to use open data as an ingredient for positive change.

In his spare time he is also leading on a user-centred data-driven curriculum for 14-19 year olds as a Governor of Sheffield's University Technical College.
