Ugonna Ukaigwe has led the Coalition on the Right to Information (RTI) Ghana since November 2013. The Coalition has been championing the advocacy for the passage of the RTI Law in Ghana, which is one of the key commitments under the country’s OGP NAP. Previously, Ugonna worked as the Law and Policy Reform Officer for the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) also based in Accra, Ghana. Currently, Ugonna is championing the campaign for the adoption by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission of a Legal Framework for Access to Information and Freedom of Expression in West Africa. Ugonna has worked as a consultant for national, regional and international non-governmental organisations including the World Bank. She is an expert in creating, coordinating and managing regional coalitions, networks and campaigns.
