Marie Lintzer is a Governance Officer at the Natural Resource Governance Institute, based in New York. She leads on the OGP Openness in Natural Resources Working Group and contributes to the implementation of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative standard in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea and Mongolia. She also provides technical assistance and capacity-building to government officials and civil society on good governance mechanisms in the oil, gas and mining sector. She led the research process, coordinated the data analysis and steered the production of the 2013 Resource Governance Index (RGI), a measure of transparency and accountability in the oil, gas and mining sector of 58 countries. Prior to joining NRGI she worked for two years as a consultant in London, focusing on the natural resources sector, advising donors and mining companies on issues related to conflict minerals, artisanal mining and compliance with mining regulations, among other subjects. She has published articles related to these topics and has traveled extensively in Central Africa. Marie holds a law degree from the University of Paris II and Oxford as well as an MSc. in Public Management and Governance from the London School of Economics.
