As Principal, Policy at Omidyar Network (ON), Laura leads investments, engages in direct policy and advocacy work, and commissions research for ON's global Governance & Citizen Engagement initiative. Laura's portfolio includes grants in fiscal governance and open data organizations and initiatives at the global, regional and country-level. She is a member of the Open Contracting Partnership advisory board and is an observer of the World Wide Web Foundation board.
Laura served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Niger from 2002 to 2005. She was a research fellow at Harvard’s Center for Public Leadership, where she managed research projects and co-authored several works, including the National Leadership Index: A National Study of Confidence in Leadership and a chapter in the book Women and Leadership: The State of Play and Strategies for Change. She was an adviser to the Liberian Ministry of Gender and Development and Liberian Women's Legislative Caucus part-time during her graduate studies, and then was appointed by President Barack Obama as a White House Fellow from 2009-2010. Prior to joining Omidyar Network, Laura served as associate director of Innovations for Successful Societies, a Princeton University research program that focuses on building public sector accountability.
Laura has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Harvard College and a master's degree in public policy from Harvard Kennedy School. She is based in London, UK.
