Eugene Lenn Nagbe Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs &Tourism Republic of Liberia
H.E. Eugene Lenn Nagbe is one of Liberia’s experienced public servants with a long and outstanding political career spanning over 20 years at very high levels in government. Prior to his current position as Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, he served as the Minister of Youth & Sports, Minister of Transport and as Minister of Post and Telecommunications. He is also the National Secretary General of Liberia’s ruling Unity Party. In his illustrious career, Minister Nagbe has served in several other senior level positions in government, including Chief of Staff in the Office of the Vice President, Special Assistant to the Vice President of Liberia, Assistant Director of Police, the Liberian National Police, Assistant Director General for News and Public Affairs, the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS), and also as Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs. In these positions, he represented his country at several high level International meetings and conferences, across the world. The Honorable Minister is also a trained, experienced and accomplished career journalist. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from the University of Liberia, after having completed his high school/Secondary Education at the Cape Palmas High School in Maryland County, Liberia. He has served as feisty reporter for several progressive local papers, including Mirror, Torch Light, Daily Star and Monrovia Guardian Newspapers, before rising through the ranks to the positions of Sub-editor and Editor. Beyond his regular engagements in government and, the Hon. Eugene Lenn Nagbe has also been a formidable and actively engaged political pundit and commentator. He served as Deputy National Campaign Manager for the ruling Unity Party, prior to which he served as National Secretary of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC). At the ripe age of 47, Honorable Nagbe is still an active athlete and a strong lover of sports, especially football. He is the President of one of Liberia’s premier football team Mighty Barrolle and a member of the Alpha and Bucks County Old Timers Sports Association. Eugene Lenn Nagbe is a devout Catholic with three children, Lencia, 25, Angell, 17 and Edwin 2.
