Isabel is Senior Policy Advisor for Extractive Industries at Oxfam . She leads research and analysis on extractives transparency, studying government and corporate norms & practice, including EITI. She engages governments, corporations, IFIs, investors and CSOs, and is a member of USEITI. Previously, she was Director of Publish What You Pay United States, leading advocacy to improve US, corporate & IFI policies. She led PWYPUS’s drive to pass US payment transparency legislation in 2010 (Section 1504 - Dodd-Frank Act). She spent 9 previous years at World Resources Institute, researching the social and environmental impacts and benefits of natural resource extraction with partners and coalitions in the Amazon, Indonesia, Russia and Central Africa. She studied extractives & forestry governance challenges, and how corporations and IFIs influence national and private systems of risk mitigation and management. She holds degrees in French and Journalism from University of Maryland.
