TUR-OD Lkhagvajav is Co-Convener & Steering Committee member of Asia Democracy Network (www.adn21.asia) during 2016-2018, and elected as the PWYP Global Council member for 2016-2019 (www.publishwhatyoupay.org) - EITI’s civil society platform. He is currently working as the President of TI - Mongolia, and the National Council member for OGP. He was appointed by the President of Mongolia as member and elected Chairman of the Public Council (with 15 leading CSOs and mass media representatives as its members) at the Independent Authority Against Corruption in May 2014 until 2018. Prior, Tur-Od was Legal Assistant to the President of Mongolia and Special Adviser to the Minister of Justice in 2012-2014. He served CEO and Secretary-General of Mongolian Bankers Association, and Managing Director of Mongolia Economic Forum/MEF as a part-time advisor to the Prime Minister of Mongolia. Had been working as Deputy CEO of XacBank, Mongolia’s first microfinance development bank and its first-time Social & Environmental Manager. From 1999 was working in UNDP Mongolia, including as its first-time Governance Practice Manager until 2005. Tur-Od started his professional career at the Ministry of Justice as a legislative drafting expert, and a part-time lecturer in public international law at the Institute of Public Administration & Management Development (currently, the National Academy of Governance). Tur-Od holds several leading civil society positions, including as Co-Founder in 2003 & Chair of the Board for Transparency International – Mongolia National Chapter, and a member of National Council for EITI (chaired by the Prime Minister) and the Coordinating Council for Publish What You Pay/PWYP – Coalition of 30 Mongolian NGOs under EITI. Since 2013 was the first Country Facilitator for LOGIN – Local Governance Initiative and Network for South and East Asia. He is founding Chair of the Mongolian Foundation for Democracy and first Convener/Secretary General of Mongolia Democracy Network – Coalition of 9 leading CSOs. He is National Coordinator for 11th Asia-Europe People’s Forum (www.aepf.info) within the ASEM process. Tur-Od, after his initial legal studies at the Law School, National University of Mongolia, graduated from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) with BA., LL.B. (Honours) degree. He received his Master of Laws (LLM) in Law and Development degree with Merit from the University of London (SOAS/UCL), the United Kingdom.
