I have a background of working in both local government in Sweden and international organization that aims at strengthening civil societies in the Eastern Partnership countries of EU. Sweden has a long history and tradition of open government. However, there is always a room for improvement when it comes to citizen participation and engagement in building accountable government, especially now when Swedish parties at local levels are starting campaigning before 2018 elections. Before becoming a director at an international organization that helps local civil societies in Eastern Partnership countries I worked as a media specialist at the US Embassy in Armenia and monitored the development of media and civil society organizations in Armenia. Currently I work as a political secretary at a local party in one of the Stockholm’s communities. We work actively with both the opposition and the majority in the city council and encourage active civic participation. I have MA in Political Science and MA in Communications from American universities.
