My name is George Jobe. I am Executive Director for Malawi Health Equity Network (MHEN). I have over 15 years experience in designing, implementing and evaluating projects in education, Child Rights, Child Labour, Community-Based Natural Resource Management, Health, Humanitarian Work, Gender, and HIV/AIDS prevention and mitigation. I designed and implemented a community radio station in Mchinji District as an extension to a USAID-funded project. I contributed to the designing and implementation of participatory methodologies like “The Social Mobilization Campaign Conceptual Model” and the best practices in education and health aimed at ensuring that community mobilization and sustainable development. I am also extensively experienced in advocacy (social accountability work which include analysis and tracking of national budget and advocating for health rights), Action Research Techniques like Theatre for Development (TFD), Training facilitation, Strategic Management, Policy Formulation, Assets Management, Human Resources Management, Resources Mobilization, and Financial Management. I have rich experience in cross-cultural communication having worked in all the districts of Malawi and worked in Mozambique and Zambia. I have sat on a number of Boards of Trustees i.e. Council for Non Governmental Organizations (CONGOMA) –Chairperson; Civil Society Coalition for Quality Basic Education (CSCQBE)- as Chairperson for both its Board and Executive Board; Chikondano Pentecostal Church – as Chairperson of Board of Trustees; and Centre for Child Development and Research – as Chairperson of Board of Trustees.
