Alan joined Global Integrity in April 2014 as Managing Director for Policy and Advocacy and was appointed to the role of Executive Director in January 2015.

Alan has more than 20 years of experience working to understand and improve governance in a variety of different roles. Before joining Global Integrity, Alan was the Policy Director for Transparency and Accountability at the ONE Campaign. Alan worked for the UK’s development agency (DFID), the Overseas Development Institute, the UK Parliament, the Open University and the University of Cambridge. Alan studied Human Geography at the University of Bristol and completed a Ph.D. on the relationship between globalization and sovereignty at the University of Cambridge.

Alan’s professional passion is to put country-level learning at the center of the open governance agenda.
