Besinati Mpepo is World Vision International’s Technical Director for Social Accountability. She oversees the scale out, adaptation and innovation of Citizen Voice and Action (CVA), World Vision’s approach to social accountability - currently implemented in over 630 programmes in almost 50 countries.

Over the past couple of years, Besinati has led World Vision’s engagement on citizen engagement in the Agenda 2030, promoting social accountability by and for the often left behind - particularly children and young people. Before joining World Vision International, Besinati held a number of policy and programme roles in World Vision UK – including on economic justice, social accountability and programme policy.

Between 2000 and 2007, Besinati was the first Executive Director of the Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) network in Zambia, responsible for coordinating Zambian civil society input to the country’s first Poverty Reduction Strategy and follow on national development plans.
