I am actually Head of the Local Government and Decentralization Unit of UN-Habitat, the United Nations Programme of Human Settlements, the UN agency for cities based in Nairobi (Kenya). I have been working in issues related to local governance and the role of local governments in the global agendas since 1997, first at the International Labor Organisation and later in UN-Habitat Best Practice's Office in Spain. I have a Degree in Political Sciences by the University of Granada with complementary studies on EU Law and International Relations at the Robert Schuman University in Strasbourg (France). A national of Spain, I also have a MSc on Public Service Management by the University of Birmingham (UK). Fluent in Spanish, English, Italian and French.
