Baldwin is a Social Accountability Expert, Communications Specialist, Educationist and Researcher. He is also an experienced leader and manager. The wide range of experience, skills and competencies is drawn from his diverse and dynamic 25 – year career in various roles.

Currently he is Country Engagement Developer (CED) - Open Contracting (OC) and Project Manager - Open Society (Transparency, Accountability & Freedom of Expression) for the Humanist Institute for Corporation with Developing Countries (Hivos Foundation) Malawi Office and Commissioner for Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC).

He has also been Consulting Technical Advisor - Social Accountability for the UNICEF Every Woman Every Child (EWEC) Programme and the USAID Maternal and Child Survival Programme (MCSP).

Previously, he worked as Deputy Country Director (DCD) for VSO International Malawi Country Office; Executive Director (ED) for Media Council of Malawi (MCM); Communications Officer for World Vision Malawi; Principal Information Officer in the Malawi Government Ministries of Information and Teacher Training College Lecturer in the Malawi Ministry of Education. He also worked as Consulting Senior Researcher at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) Headquarters in Pretoria, South Africa; Donor Visibility Communication Consultant for UNICEF Malawi.

Baldwin has also substantive experience of providing high – level leadership through chairing and sitting on various corporate and non-profit organisations’ boards. He is currently, chairperson of Farm Radio Trust (FRT), Trustee of Association of Business Journalists, Chairman of Public Relations Associations of Malawi Board of Trustees and Chairman of LC Pharmacies board of directors and Chairman of Lilongwe Pentecostal Church Private Schools Board of Directors etc.
