Dr. Pinheiro Privette is trained in the fields of science and engineering, and spent most of her career as a science researcher at NASA and NOAA. She has extensive experience in data collection, data production, data analysis, and data management. In addition, Ana has worked with the decision-making community to understand their data needs and operational processes, and with the climate science community to ensure data-to-result traceability as part of the U.S. National Climate Assessment team. She led the implementation of the President Climate Data Initiative (CDI) as CDI Project Manager, and more recently as CDI Chief Data Scientist. Dr. Pinheiro Privette is currently the U.S. Government Manager for the Partnership for Resilience and Preparedness (PREP), a collaborate effort co-managed by the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) and the World Resources Institute (WRI). Ana is interested in using data to better understand the natural environment and to design strategies that improve the resilience of systems to changing weather and climate.
