Ms. Hope Muli is currently the Africa Regional Project Manager for Open Contracting at the Humanist Institute for Co-operation with Developing Countries (https://hivos.org/). She has over 20 years of experience working on governance issues in the African continent.
Ms. Hope Muli has managed and executed on diverse portfolios that include advancing open contracting, open budgeting, advocacy for freedom of information, strengthening civil society engagements with parliaments, managing multi and bi-lateral relations, delivering youth and women’s empowerment in the governance sector and international trade finance. She holds Masters Degree in Politics and Development and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations.
Ms. Hope Muli has been elected for two consecutive terms as the Human Rights Representative of UNDP’s Amkeni Wa Kenya Civil Society Stakeholders Reference Group in Kenya. Nationally she has engaged in various policy processes including Kenya’s Devolution laws, Public Finance Management Act and several Youth Policies in Africa. She has also served an action partner of the Africa Youth Parliament engaging the New Partnership for Africa Development (NEPAD)- Africa Peer Review Mechanism and African Union on the formulation and ratification the Africa Youth Charter. Internationally she has advocated for the improvement of the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs), the establishment of the Global Youth Fund, the opening up of public contracts amongst other international campaigns for inclusiveness and sustainable development .
