Jerikay Gayle is Austin's elections attorney, and serves as the Open Government Division Chief in its Legal Department. She has practiced municipal law for 34 years, is a licensed mediator, and holds multiple merit certifications. She is a frequent national and international speaker on transparency issues, and has received numerous professional awards for outstanding public service and for lifetime contributions to the field. Her academic credentials in the US are from University of Texas Law and William and Mary Law, and in England from Exeter, Oxford, and Manchester Universities. Avocationally, she is a professional travel photographer and a certified Egyptologist.
