Peter Odhengo* is a senior Policy advisor on Environment, Green Economy and Climate Change at the National Treasury, Economic Affairs Department in Kenya responsible:-for policies and action on: green economy-low carbon emission development strategy, climate financing, carbon credit trading systems, sustainable development and adoption of green energy. He is also the National Coordinator Greening Kenya Initiative-a catalytic flagship program aimed at enhancing the adoption of green consumerism in the region and The Secretary General, Environment Society of Kenya (ESOK). Mr. Odhengo is a graduated of UNESCO International Technological University based in Paris-France in 1995 with a Master’s of Science in (Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development), Bachelor of Science in ecology, Second class honors from Kenyatta University (Kenya) and Post graduate Certificates in Environmental inspection, Ellis Ford UK, Certificate in Wind Energy Management-Gortland University-Sweden, Certificate in Project Management-Project Steering AB-Sweden, Energy and Technology Life Cycle Assessment-Tsukuba Japan, Certificate in Low carbon-low emission clean energy technologies at the Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA) Japan, Certificate in Cleaner production-Kenya, Cert. Product Simulation- University of Trieste Italy. He has worked with National Irrigation Board, Africa Biodiversity Institute. Kenya Industrial, adjunct Lecturer-United States International University-USIU, advisor on green energy and climate change policy, former office of the Prime Minister-Kenya. Chair of Inter-ministerial Technical Team on Sustainable Management of Deltas in Kenya and the focal point for the Netherlands based Deltas Alliance in Kenya, a member of North-South Knowledge Net Work on climate change and water adaptation based at UNESCO-IHE in Netherlands.
