As a media person, I have been actively involved in journalism for more than two decades .I am currently the President of Media Advocacy Group (MAG), an organization working on Women and Information. As a journalist for more than 2 decades I work as an editor at Ghatana Ra Bichar, a popular vernacular weekly newspaper in the country. I am also a trainer for Gender and Security, Human Rights, Gender, Gender Based Violence and Right to Information. I have also been working as the resource person and trainer in various trainings concerning these issues and the UN Resolution 1325 and 1820 for development professionals and others from various sectors such as security personnel, journalists, and political party leaders. I served as a member of High Level Media Advisory mission, Government of Nepal in 2006. I was one of the members of the Drafting Committee formed by the Government of Nepal on Right to Information Act and Working Journalist Act in 2006. I have written and edited number of books which includes In search of Self Reliance (case studies of survivors of Trafficking) Foreign Employment for women: Challenges & Opportunity (a compilation of articles on migrant women workers). I have also edited books entitled; "Media and Elections" and "Women, Constituent Assembly, Elections and Media". My literary book Sambandhahin Sambandhaharu; (relation without relationship) has been published second edition.

I am also actively involved in BPFA and CEDAW review process; also contributing articles on political, social, human rights and gender issues, to various newspapers. I am a Scholar of Peace Fellowship Programme: "Women in Security Conflict Management (WISCOMP), New Delhi, 2006/2007. I have also received several awards from different sectors mainly "Celebrating Womanhood Award - 2007 by Creative Statements"; "Shridhar Jornalism National Award – 2009 by Federation of Nepalese Journalists", "Peace Media Award - 2009 by Krishna Mohan Nudup Memorial Academy", "Uma Shing Journalism Award-2012" by Reporters Club Nepal.
