Aisha has built a career as media and communication professional. She has 16 years professional experience in the media focused on the continent and everything related to Africans even in the Diaspora. As senior report and editor covering 45 countries in Africa, Aisha extensively travelled around the continent covering major events such as African Union summits, sector-specific international conferences, presidential elections, development issues and humanitarian crises. In 2012, she joined the development world. She has implemented, monitored and oversaw online communication for a United Nations regional office covering 23 countries in Africa. She has led and implemented a communication and outreach campaign on peace, reconciliation and against gender-based violence during the war in the Central African Republic. Aisha currently works for a major international development agency in the area of communications and outreach covering health, inclusive economic growth, democracy, human rights and good governance, and education. She is actively involved in social issues. She has initiated, has been part of and has supported several online and offline campaigns on human rights, democracy, good governance, rule of law, women’s rights in several countries in Africa. She is currently one of the coordinators of the League of African Web-Activists for Democracy (Africtivistes) which has members in about 40 African countries, and some others in the Diaspora.
