Livia Ţurcanu is currently working at the E-Government Center of Moldova, being responsible for the coordination of the Open Government and Open Data Initiative in Moldova. She recently graduated from the University of Maastricht in The Netherlands, with a Master degree in Science, Technology and Society Studies. As part of her studies, Livia conducted a research within the Laboratory for Ethical Governance of Information Technology from Namur University, Belgium, addressing the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) governance framework. Her research was focused on the challenges and opportunities in the implementation of this concept, taking into consideration the state of art in the European Research and Innovation sectors and their compatibility with the Responsible Research and Innovation principles such as: multi-stakeholder involvement in the innovation process, open access, ethical aspects in innovation, etc. Before taking her master degree, Livia was actively involved in promoting social innovation and the use of ICTs in generating innovative solutions to social issues.
