Haidy coordinates and supports integration of civil society and citizens participation in ADB’s financed projects. She is active in the governance thematic working group, leading ADB’s work on the Open Government Partnership. She supports the training of ADB staff, NGOs, and government on strengthening participation in development projects. She advises ADB on strategy and policy to strengthen civil society participation in development.
Prior to joining ADB, she worked with international relief and development organizations such as World Vision International and Oxfam America where she developed and implemented projects on community livelihoods development, child protection, citizens participation, and civic education. Haidy is a strong proponent for social accountability and the advancement of the voices of the community in national policy dialogue. Her earlier work on citizen’s participation were published as part of World Vision’s policy magazine Global Futures.
