Dr. Kay Brown started her career as an Economics lecturer. In 2002 she joined the National Treasury of South Africa and dealt with criminal justice system cross-cutting policy and budgeting. Since 2007 she manages the national budget process and is responsible for the process of budget allocation decision-making and related approvals. She is also responsible for national budget reform and is currently the Chairperson of the Management Committee of the Collaborative Africa Budget Reform Initative.
