Rosie is the Director of Corporate Affairs, UK and Europe, for BHP Billiton, the world’s largest resources company. Since joining the company in 2014 she has led engagement with the UK government, the EU and broader corporate affairs stakeholders, including media, on key policy issues for the company around transparency, climate change, anti-corruption and diversity. Rosie has over fifteen years’ experience of working in government and corporate affairs. She started her career in Brussels, working first as an adviser to the Leader of the Labour group of MEPs and latterly as an EU civil servant in the European Parliament, with a focus on social policy. Rosie was a senior adviser in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and the Behavioural Insights Team (2008-2011), for Prime Ministers Gordon Brown and David Cameron. After working in government, Rosie joined Kingfisher PLC, an Anglo-French FTSE 50 company, where she led European corporate affairs, working out of Paris and Brussels.

Rosie was born and raised in the UK. She has an MA (Hons) in Politics from the University of Edinburgh during which time she studied for a year at Sciences Politiques, Grenoble, France and gained a diploma in political sciences. She was awarded a UK Government Scholarship to study for a Master’s degree in European Politics at the College of Europe, in Bruges, Belgium. She is a Trustee of the Franco British Council, a charity dedicated to enhancing Franco-British Relations and speaks fluent French.
